This cowl is knit from the top down and requires a crochet provisional cast-on to create a folded brim. It also features an icord that is inserted through the folder brim for a nice finishing touch. Using yarns with high contrast to get the best out of the pattern is recommended. This pattern was professionally tech edited in 2023.

This cowl came to me after I saw this stitch pattern on social media. Right there I knew I wanted to create a new pattern using it.

I imagined using single-ply fingering yarns, but when my order from the Leading Man Fibers Arts came in the mail, I had to tack and use this yarn instead. Any fingering weight yarn with wool content will work great for this pattern.

Unless there are major discrepancies in gauge, 1 skein/ 100g fingering weight yarn for MC is enough to knit the cowl. A 20g mini skein should also be enough for the CC. This cowl is a great way to use your sock sets!
